This is news to us

I got a news release sent my way Thursday saying the Postal Service had issued new stamps in celebration of the Year of the Tiger.

2010 the Year of the Tiger? We’ll see.

2009 certainly wasn’t.

Jim Gordon, The Anti-Fan: I'm a journalist for The New Mexican newspaper in Santa Fe. I conceived the The Anti-Fan column for The New Mexican in late 1999 and have been writing it weekly ever since. It runs Fridays. The Anti-Fan was named the best sports column in the state in 2005 and 2006 by the New Mexico Press Association; the same years it also was named the best specialized column in the state — and the nation — by the National Federation of Press Women. Recently the column won a regional award from the Society of Professional Journalists. I'm married to freelance writer/editor Andrea Shapiro.
